50 Games and Activities for All the Turkeys at Your Thanksgiving: The Ultimate Guide to Keeping Your Guests Gobbled Up in Fun All Day Long
Thanksgiving is a time for family, friends, and of course, food. But what about the turkeys? They're the stars of the show, and they deserve to have some fun too! That's why we've put together this collection of 50 games and activities that are perfect for turkeys of all ages.
Games
- Turkey Bowling: Set up ten empty water bottles or soda cans as pins and use a small pumpkin or squash as a bowling ball. See who can knock down the most pins in three rolls.
- Turkey Cornhole: Draw a turkey on a piece of cardboard or plywood and cut out two holes, one for each team. Toss beanbags or corn kernels through the holes to score points. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
- Turkey Tag: One person is designated as the "turkey" and tries to tag the other players. The other players run around and try to avoid being tagged. If a player is tagged, they become the new turkey.
- Turkey Charades: Write down a list of Thanksgiving-themed words or phrases and have players take turns acting them out. The other players guess what the word or phrase is.
- Turkey Pictionary: Similar to charades, but instead of acting out the word or phrase, players draw it on a piece of paper. The other players guess what the drawing is.
- Turkey Bingo: Create a bingo card with Thanksgiving-themed words or phrases. As the caller reads out the words or phrases, players mark them off their cards. The first player to get five in a row wins.
- Turkey Scavenger Hunt: Hide Thanksgiving-themed items around the house or yard and give players clues to find them. The first player to find all of the items wins.
- Turkey Toss: Draw a target on a piece of cardboard or plywood. Players take turns tossing beanbags or corn kernels at the target. The player who gets the most beanbags or corn kernels in the target wins.
Activities
- Make Turkey Masks: Provide construction paper, markers, glue, and other craft supplies and let guests create their own turkey masks.
- Decorate Sugar Cookies: Bake sugar cookies in the shape of turkeys and let guests decorate them with frosting, sprinkles, and other toppings.
- Make Cornucopias: Help guests make cornucopias out of construction paper or felt. They can fill them with candy, popcorn, or other treats.
- Play Thanksgiving Music: Put on some Thanksgiving-themed music and let guests sing along or dance.
- Read Thanksgiving Stories: Read aloud some Thanksgiving stories to guests, such as "The Night Before Thanksgiving" by Natasha Wing or "Turkey Trouble" by Wendi Silvano.
- Watch Thanksgiving Movies: Put on a Thanksgiving-themed movie, such as "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" or "Grumpy Old Men."
- Make a Gratitude Jar: Have guests write down things they are grateful for on slips of paper and put them in a jar. At the end of the day, read the slips aloud.
- Have a Family Dance Party: Put on some music and let guests dance around and have fun.
These are just a few ideas for games and activities that you can do with the turkeys at your Thanksgiving. With a little creativity, you can come up with even more ways to keep them entertained all day long. So get ready to gobble up some fun this Thanksgiving!
