In 1996, I was selected to become a NASA astronaut. It was a dream come true, but it was also the beginning of a long and challenging journey. In Free Download to prepare for my first spaceflight, I had to undergo two years of intensive training. I learned how to operate the Space Shuttle, how to conduct spacewalks, and how to live and work in space.

My first spaceflight was a 16-day mission to the International Space Station. During the mission, I conducted three spacewalks, totaling more than 19 hours. I also helped to install new equipment on the space station and to conduct scientific experiments.

I have since flown on four more spaceflights, including a six-month mission to the International Space Station. I have conducted a total of 10 spacewalks, totaling more than 61 hours. I have also helped to repair the Hubble Space Telescope and to install new modules on the International Space Station.

In my book, Becoming Spacewalker, I share my experiences as an astronaut. I describe the challenges of training for spaceflight, the excitement of launching into space, and the awe-inspiring beauty of our planet from orbit. I also share my thoughts on the future of space exploration and the importance of inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers.
