At turns hilarious and heartbreaking, An Unlikely Writer Confronts the '60s and Other Indignities is a memoir unlike any other. Author and humorist Earl Pitts chronicles his experiences growing up in the 1960s and 1970s, from his childhood in a small town in Pennsylvania to his time as a student at the University of Texas at Austin.
Pitts's memoir is full of humor and heart, and it offers a unique perspective on one of the most tumultuous periods in American history. He writes about the Vietnam War, the civil rights movement, and the sexual revolution, but he also writes about the everyday experiences of a young man coming of age in a changing world.
Pitts is a gifted storyteller, and his memoir is a page-turner from start to finish. He has a knack for finding the humor in even the most difficult situations, and his writing is full of warmth and compassion.
An Unlikely Writer Confronts the '60s and Other Indignities is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the 1960s, or for anyone who simply enjoys a good story well told.
