Ware was born in 1842 in Tennessee. He moved to Texas with his family when he was a young boy, and he quickly became fascinated with the frontier. He joined the Texas Rangers in 1861, and he quickly proved himself to be a valuable member of the force. Ware was a skilled scout and tracker, and he was always willing to take on the most dangerous assignments.
Ware's most famous adventure occurred in 1874, when he was part of a posse that tracked down and killed the outlaw Billy the Kid. Ware was one of the few men who could match Billy the Kid's skill with a gun, and he played a key role in the outlaw's capture.
Ware continued to serve as a Texas Ranger until 1885, when he retired. He then moved to Arizona, where he lived until his death in 1926. Ware's life is a testament to the courage, humor, and integrity of the Texas Rangers. He was a true American hero, and his story is an inspiration to us all.
