A fierce gunfight ensued, and both Bonnie and Clyde were killed. Hamer's team was victorious, and the reign of terror of Bonnie and Clyde came to an end.

Later Life and Legacy

After the deaths of Bonnie and Clyde, Hamer continued to serve as a Texas Ranger until his retirement in 1935. He then worked as a private investigator and security consultant. Hamer died in 1955 at the age of 71, and he was buried in Austin, Texas.
